Cobra Gymnastics & Dance Center Receives 2017 Best of Rutland Award
Cobra Gymnastics & Dance Center has been selected for the 2017 Best of Rutland Award in the Gymnastic Instruction category by the Rutland Award Program.
Each year, the Rutland Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Rutland area a great place to live, work and play.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2017 Rutland Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Rutland Award Program and data provided by third parties.
Cobra Policies – Reminders
We ask that you inform all caregivers who bring your children to gymnastics of our most important policies.
* Arrival Time Policy
Students more than 10 minutes late to class may be asked to reschedule the lesson. We know life can be challenging and busy, but, it can be both disruptive and dangerous for a child to enter class late and miss the warm-up activities. The beginning of class is also when the coaches discuss safety and the stations for the class. Our two hours classes have a longer warm-up, so the acceptable tardy arrival time is extended to 20 minutes.
* Attire
In the gym, it is recommended that girls wear a one-piece leotard. Fitted shorts or footless tights are accepted. Boys should wear a t-shirt and fitted shorts or sweat pants. Zippers, buckles, or buttons on the students’ clothing should be avoided. Long hair or bangs need to be secured back out of the student’s face. No jewelry while in class (except for studded earrings). No shoes or socks in the gym. All clothing must be appropriate for children (appropriate referring to styles, slogans and graphics). Leotards are highly suggested for Level 2 and above.
* Viewing Classes
At Cobra, we feel it’s important for you to have the opportunity to view your child’s progress. Please don’t feel obligated though! Use class time to do errands or have some alone time! We host an award week at the end of every session, so your gymnasts will have their moment to shine!
Our mezzanine is set up for observing, quiet reading or relaxing, but please refrain from live or cell phone conversations. Our gym is most often full of voices from the coaches and children, and it’s difficult to compete with parents chatter. We have free wi-fi for Cobra members. Video games can only be played with earphones. Coaching from the mezzanine is not permitted. Please remember when in our downstairs lobby that we often have yoga or dance classes being held in the studio; quiet voices are appreciated.
Pre-school Open Gym and Parents Night Out
* Pre-school Open gym is the 2nd Tuesday of every month and will be held on March 14th from 11:15-12:30pm. Ages 18months-6 years. 18-36 months need to be accompanied by an adult. $10 member/$12 non-member/$8 registered student
* Don’t forget, this Friday, March 10th is Parent’s Night Out. Ages 5 and up. 6:00-9:00 PM. $18 members/$20 non-members/$45 for families of 3 or more. Pizza Included!
Session and Gym Changes
* By now, we hope you have noticed our new set of AAI Constant Tension Bars in the gym. These bars have been on our wish list for quite some time and allow our gymnasts the opportunity to have two competitive sets of bars as well as a “strap bar” for learning tap swings and giant swings!
* We will be moving to a three week lesson plan for both pre-school and recreation classes beginning on week five. We will spend more time teaching progressive skills rather than learning new circuits. All the coaches are excited for this change!!
* We had to say goodbye to Coach Aaron and Coach Josh as they moved on to other adventures in their lives! Thank you for your time and energy you gave our Cobra kids!!
